A HOUSE OF PLANES
A house for a doctor with a keen eye for design and architecture became a fulfilling collaboration with seamless communication of program and design. A play of planes governed the making of the overall form and materiality complimented the overall intent. Planes extended from inside to out. Vertical in the form of walls as well as horizontal planes in the form of roof slabs. The internal court with a skylight, is an encapsulation of the outdoors and a reflection of the garden outdoor. Each room has been designed with a spatial quality suited to the people occupying them. Their teenaged son's room has a predominant use of books in the making of the space since he is an intense reader. A seamless design experience starting with the architectural elements to the art pieces, many of which were custom designed for the spaces, till the selection of landscape elements. Synergy with the client is what made the experience even more special.
