A vision of creating a place and a space to elevate the soul and carry forward the essence and teachings of Param Kripalu, Shrimad Rajachandra ji. Nestled in the beautiful hills of Uttarakhand with a full pan view of the Majestic Himalayas, the site has been a challenge and a beautiful experience to work with.
The core concept of the design is to leave a minimal human footprint and let the land and nature dictate the planning principles.
Understanding the vision and brief from the guiding light, Sri Guru, gave birth to the entire design philosophy of the place. it is only when the person is ready to shed the layers of their emotions, experiences and clutter of the mind, are they ready to experience what the place offers.
"A Journey" being the core concept of the entire planning, as one goes along at the level of site experience of the experience of each built space within, you shed the clutter to come as close to the essence of the core of SRM and its philosophy.
Stepping lightly on the ground was the other core concept which meant hours spent on siting the built forms and each time making the building subservient to the land. A grueling challenge and a beautiful experience of coming extremely close to how the land moves, composition of the soil, vegetation and its response to the land, the movement of water which is one of the most beautiful life giving elements of nature.
Extreme restraint will remain a core of the design development which will also flow into the landscape finding very few deliberately planted spaces devoid of the expression of ego in human existence.
