The world renowned brand Kentucky Fried Chicken has a perceivable presence even in India. Working with a strong established definitive brand and yet to overlay something new, on a given template was the challenge.
The brand presented a need to develop a DELCO - “DELivery and Carry Out” format outlet which was of a small size. They had just one thing , a name.
“Small Box”.
The interpretation of this two word brief has been taken up with due respect to the existing brand aesthetic, look and feel, to create something identifiable yet new for the customer. The small scale drives the design aesthetic towards having a strong recall value.
We took the literal concept of a box in its native state and took that idea all the way. Deriving from the basic format we got a Red Box, Black Box, Concrete Box, Brick Box. A means to to expand the idea for different contexts and locations became possible due to its simplicity. All materials for the making of this idea were also derived from the notion of a box.
